NEW MISSOURI RIVER (LAKE SHARPE) BOAT RAMP AND RECREATION AREA OPENS IN 2023

The new Wata Onazin (Boat Park) Recreation Area, on the east side of Lower Brule, is open as of July, 2023. This area will feature a boat ramp, swim beach and protected swim area, basketball, horseshoe and corn hole courts, picnic areas with grills, vault toilets, two miles of walking/running trails, park benches, a playground, and an extensive riparian forest restoration area. Access permits are required for boat launching and ice fishing but all other recreational activites are free.
