Beginning in 2017 all deer tags will be changed from paper to metal.  Tags must be immediately attached to animal after harvested; for a buck the tag must be attached snugly to an antler and for antlerless deer the tag must be attached to the hind leg by cutting through the hide and inserting the tag between the bone and tendon, then slide the tag together to lock it.

For all archery deer and archery pronghorn, a metal tag will be issued with the license; upon harvest all animals must be registered with the Wildlife Office or a Conservation Officer who will inspect the animal, then issue and attach a transportation tag to the antler (bucks) or leg (antlerless deer).
